hole in pavement on Stockwell Park Crescent

I am going to blog more shortly on the state of the pavement on Stockwell Park Crescent, which isn't up to much, but for now Lambeth need to urgently sort out a dangerous hole in the pavement on the Crescent, pictured. I noticed this while out and about in Stockwell today.

I have contacted the street and pavement repair team, and will follow up if it's not sorted urgently. The hole is on the corner of Stockwell Park Crescent and Somerville Close. It seems to be a missing drain cover or fitting for the street light. While it is relatively small, it could easily be dangerous if you don't see it and is in the middle of the pavement.

Hopefully Lambeth will sort this as a priority. If you spot any potholes or problems with the roads or pavements in your area - you can report them by calling 020 7926 9000, or email TandHCallCentre@lambeth.gov.uk

There's a problem with drain cover thefts - I found one in Streatham Hill yesterday and reported it. Apparently, people are stealing the covers to sell as scrap metal. It's a real problem. We need to work with the Council and the Police to tackle this one. Thanks for keeping up the pressure!

MAYBE MISCREANTS ARE USING THE OPENED HOLES AS PUBLIC LOOS. I WONDER WHY? PERHAPS STEVE PEED WOULD HAVE AN IDEA!
